17U Girls win some, lose some in Québec

The 17U Girls and a good contingent of their parents headed north to compete in Volleyball Québec’s 37th Annual Omnium Thérèse-Martin in Joliette, Québec on Sunday, January 11th. It was an entirely different experience all around, with the girls staying overnight in a school classroom, games capped to 25 pts., anything and everything in French, balls being played off the ceiling, but the 4-match event proved a good opportunity to get more valuable touches and to try out new player combinations and game strategies. Thanks very much to Stéphane Dénommée for organizing the event. Thanks to Coaches Justin James and Laura Edwards for stepping forward to guide the girls through the day. Thanks to parents Maryanne Ambroziak and Avereil Tracy for staying overnight with the girls at the school, and thanks to the rest of the parents who travelled north to cheer the girls on.
