Our 16U Girls took the short drive northeast to Ottawa to participate in the OVA 16U Girls Challenge Cup/Trillium at Merivale and Confederation High Schools in Nepean. Perhaps Coach Woods put it best: “As a coach all you can ask of your players is hard work, effort, commitment and to enjoy what they are doing. The EOVC 16U Girls Air Force team showed these traits yesterday in Ottawa. Although it was a bit of a rough day, the girls continued to work hard and learn that the game of volleyball is not as easy as some people might think. Mistakes were made, lessons were learned, but at the end of the day, everyone seemed happy and ready to move forward. I am very proud of this team. There are a lot of young and inexperienced players who continue to work hard and improve each practice and at each tournament we play in. The new year looks bright and who knows – we may just accomplish something great in April. Do not look at yesterday as a failure but as a motivation to be better. Good jobs ladies, Looking forward to 2015.”
